Lorelle on Wordpress Is Having a Party and Guess Who’s Invited

I guess the headline gave it away didn’t it? This past Friday was a to be a special day. Besides enjoying fridays as they are the main entry to my writing time on weekends I got to enjoy this one even more. After all is it not every day that one of the most prominent and respected bloggers ask you to guest blog on their blog and even give you two months to do it. That a number of bloggers that I read and respect was also invited only adds to my excitement.

In Two Months of Celebrating Blogging and WordPress you can read about the background for the celebration as well as how it is planned. Typical of Lorelle will she rather celebrate her friends and the subjects she writes about than herself. It is a great opportunity to check out every corner of her site though. If you can even find the corners for mere content! As you will find is Lorelle one of the most productive bloggers and her body of work is (almost) overwhelming.

Since Lorelle asked me to guest blog based on what I have written on this site will my contributions to the party cover one or more of the same topics that I cover here. I may try to adapt my style to her blog to fit in though. You know how it is when you are invited to a party. People actually want to see you for who you are. At least when it is a good party. You do however also want to present yourself well and fit in. As I see it is guest blogging no different.

My first guest post was just published: Why A Link Post Should Be Like Mingling at a Party. It is basically about speed linking versus slow linking. I would love to hear what you think about it. You can post here or at Lorelle’s, but please leave your comments so we can all benefit from them. If you never commented before or feel insecure about it check out the 10 Tips That Will Make Anyone a Better Commenter to see how you make the most of it both for yourself and everyone else.

PLEASE! Do not adapt your style to me. I will smack you!

I didn’t open up my blog to get Lorelle clones. I wanted you for the unique and powerful blogging voice you have.

So just relax and have fun with this. It’s an amazing group of people at the party, and some you will definitely want to get to know better. Drinks are on the house (or in the basement, bathroom, garage – anywhere you put your drinks but don’t spill them on the computer!).

    :D

Well, I will a hard time to match your voice anyway I am sure so in that regard I won’t even try.

I just meant that you indeed cannot help being aware that you are visiting and want both the host and the other guests to be happy that you were invited.

If I posted exactly as here would that also be beside the point I think. Trying to angle things a little differently, play a little more if you are at a more playful blog etc. That is what I mean with adapting.

Trying to emulate the unique would certainly be both senseless and impossible.

PS: Sorry, I follow a strict, don’t drink and blog policy! :-D

Consumers prefer payday loans to face small, unanticipated expenses while avoiding costly bounced-check fees and overdue payment penalties.
